Pakistan’s inflation slows to 10.3% in September despite continued price pressures
September reading remains well above last year’s level as monthly price pressures continue

Pakistan’s headline inflation eased to 10.3% in September 2026, down from 11.2% in August, according to data available to the government.
Despite the monthly slowdown, inflation remained significantly higher than the 5.6% recorded in September 2025, showing that overall price pressures remain elevated compared with a year earlier.
On a month-on-month basis, consumer prices increased 0.9% in September, indicating that prices continued to rise during the month even as the annual inflation rate moderated.
The September data comes as households continue to face pressure from essential expenses, while changes in energy, transport and food prices remain important drivers of the overall inflation trend.
The moderation from August provides some relief on the annual inflation measure, but the higher year-on-year reading shows that the cost of living remains considerably above levels recorded a year earlier.
Inflation trends will also remain important for monetary and economic policy, particularly as policymakers balance price stability with efforts to support economic activity.
