inDrive, Tech Valley Launch Digital Safar for Drivers’ Children in Pakistan
Digital Safar will provide 300 children of inDrive drivers in Pakistan with free, Urdu-language classes in online safety and AI literacy from October 19 to November 9, 2026.

inDrive and Tech Valley have launched Digital Safar, a free online digital-safety and artificial intelligence (AI) literacy programme for 300 children of inDrive drivers in Pakistan, targeting students in grades 6 to 10.
The three-week programme will offer live online classes in Urdu, with an orientation for participating families scheduled for October 17 in Islamabad. Classes will run from October 19 to November 9, 2026.
Digital Safar draws on Google’s “Be Internet Awesome” and “Gemini Academy” learning tracks to teach children online safety, digital citizenship and responsible AI use through interactive lessons, group discussions and practical activities.
Students in grades 6 to 8 will learn to identify fake and phishing messages, share information responsibly and secure their online accounts. Participants will practise distinguishing genuine messages from fraudulent ones and creating strong passwords.
Students in grades 8 to 10 will explore how to use Google’s Gemini AI tool as a learning partner while critically evaluating its responses. Their final project will involve creating a personal Digital Citizenship Booklet featuring online safety rules and responsible digital habits.
Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar welcomed the initiative, saying it would help children learn to stay safe online and use AI as a learning tool rather than a shortcut.
Awais Saeed, country lead of inDrive Pakistan, said the programme aims to support drivers’ aspirations for their children by helping them navigate the digital world safely and access new opportunities.
Umar Farooq, founder and CEO of Tech Valley, said the partnership would extend digital literacy and AI education to children beyond those with access to well-resourced schools.
Saba Kalsoom, Tech Valley’s head of AI strategy and operations, said participants would learn practical skills, including spotting fraudulent messages, protecting accounts and using AI responsibly.
Digital Safar marks an early step in inDrive’s efforts to expand STEM education and digital skills opportunities for drivers’ children and local communities in Pakistan.
