FBR extends income tax return filing deadline to Oct 15

Tax Year 2026 deadline was extended from Sept. 30 following requests from trade bodies and other stakeholders

Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 to October 15, giving taxpayers an additional 15 days to submit their returns.


The previous deadline was September 30, 2026, for taxpayers required to file their income tax returns by that date.


The Revenue Division said the extension was granted following requests from various trade bodies and other stakeholders.


The decision was issued under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, through Circular No. 3 of 2026-27 dated September 30.
