FBR collects PKR 3.07 trillion in first quarter, beats target by PKR 13 billion
September collection rises 9% year-on-year to PKR 1.34 trillion, exceeding the monthly target by PKR 1 billion

Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected PKR 3,066 billion during the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, exceeding its quarterly target of PKR 3,053 billion by PKR 13 billion, according to provisional figures reported on Thursday.
The collection for September 2026 stood at around PKR 1,343-1,344 billion, slightly above the monthly target of PKR 1,343 billion.
The September collection helped lift total revenue for July through September to PKR 3,066 billion, keeping FBR marginally ahead of the quarterly benchmark.
In a related development, FBR extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 to Oct. 15, giving taxpayers who were originally required to file by Sept. 30 an additional 15 days. The extension followed requests from trade bodies and tax bar associations and was granted under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
The filing extension came on the final day of the quarter, when the tax authority was also working to close its first-quarter revenue position.
